Birky Design Accessories
Photos from the Birky Design photoshoot.
Designed and hand made by myself- bespoke sculptural head piece and ‘elizabethan-ruff inspired life jacket type thing’ using Birky Tweed.
Big thanks to Jessica Howarth at Narcissus for her help with flower choice!
Birky Design
I’ve been working with an Edinburgh-based interior design firm called Birky Design, making an exclusive mini-collection of accessories for a photo-shoot with the designer early next year.
I started off hand-sewing giant letter shaped foot stools covered in Birky Tweed made especially for the company in the Scottish Borders, a few examples of which are below, shot at Portobello beach on the outskirts of Edinburgh.
White Junk
A few photos of my stall from last Saturday’s White Junk Pop-up Shop at Korova in the wonderful windy city of Aberdeen.
Big thanks to all the S.T.A.G team, helpful and lovely as always!!
Lady Jojo’s Boutique
A small selection of the new collection by Lady Jojo’s Boutique, I’m the resident seamstress for the 50′s/vintage inspired boutique in Edinburgh’s Grassmarket area. Still amazes me every morning I park my bike right beside Edinburgh Castle and get paid to do something I love so much!

Chanel style Blouse
blouse i designed last year for a uni project where we had to design either a blouse or a-line skirt in the style of Chanel. This is my final outcome, one of what I believe to be my most successful pieces.
Faux Bone update
I’ve spent some time in the workshop (which has been really fun as I normally don’t get to venture too far from the Fashion dept) sanding and drilling holes into the Faux Bone.
Next I used the heat press in the textiles department to heat-transfer the silver foil effect before using the big oven in the printing dept to heat the faux bone and mould it to the shape of the mannequin.
Still needs a bit of work as i’m not 100% happy with how its looking just now, a bit cheesy and space-agey. Maybe I need to use thicker pieces of bone.. Need to remember to keep referring to my original muses- Henry Freeman and his mates in their cork lifejackets!
new sketchbook
planning my diffusion collection.. a sort of “stella for adidas” type affair
